How much does each box cost?

Each box costs $25 per week and includes all of the materials you will need, as well as access to our virtual camp program. If you sign up for all eight weeks, you are eligible for a Buy 7, Get the 8th Box free promotion! A $200 value for $175.

Additional costs incur if you live outside of Chicago. Please reach out for more info!

What will each day’s activity consist of?

The daily activities will follow the structure outlined below to encompass a variety of academic domains and camper interests. The activity will align with the week’s theme.

What ages are best suited for Camp in a Box programming?

Camp in a Box programming is geared towards 3-6 year olds in terms of the engagement level and developmentally appropriate curriculum.

I don’t want my child on a computer for hours each day in the summer. Is there a way for me to take this offline?

Yes! Each box will include hard-copy instructions for each of the activities for the week in case you’d like to opt for an offline, self-guided experience. The virtual components will still be available to you in case you’d like for your child to be a part of a social setting.

I want to participate but I live outside of Chicago city limits. Can I still sign up?

At the moment, we only have the capacity to deliver boxes within the city of Chicago. If you live in the North Shore suburbs and would like to participate, there will be an added $15 delivery fee per box.

If you live outside of Illinois and would need the boxes shipped to you, let's chat! We will be offering limited boxes for shipment via FedEx and there will be additional costs associated. Families looking to have boxes shipped out of state will also need to commit to the entire eight weeks of camp up front. Thanks for understanding!

Do I have to sign up for all of the weeks?

Camp in a Box operates on a week-by-week basis. While we anticipate that many will opt for the whole summer, we understand that it may be cost-prohibitive, or you may have other summer plans that prevent you from participating in a week, which is why we have designed our model this way. If you do choose to sign up for the whole summer upfront, you will receive a “Buy 7, Get the 8th Box Free” discount!

The only caveat to our week-by-week policy is for families getting boxes shipped from out of state! If you are getting your box shipped, you will need to commit for the whole eight week program.

What if I have multiple children in my household that want to participate?

We love the idea of families participating together! Please still sign up each child individually, as the boxes are for single use.

What do you recommend doing with my child in the afternoons?

The Camp in a Box program is intentionally designed to provide a structured morning routine, with the flexibility to allow you to soak up the summer days in the afternoon. We would recommend riding your bike, going to the pool/beach, playing outside, etc. for the afternoons!

What are your credentials?

Great question! During the school year, I am a pre-k teacher in Chicago Public Schools with 6 years of teaching experience. The very reason I got into teaching can be traced back to my time as a day camp counselor, with 3 years of experience in that setting as well. I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education with an ESL endorsement.
